PLUS PRESENTED PROSTHETIC LEG TO INJURED STAFF

SEREMBAN, 23 January 2013 - PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) presented a prosthetic leg to its' staff Mohd Haffiz Zamri, who was injured in a shooting and robbery incident at the Seremban Toll Plaza a few months ago.

PLUS’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid officially presented the prosthetic leg to Haffiz in a ceremony held at the PLUS S1 Section Office at the Pedas-Linggi Toll Plaza, today.

According Noorizah, “PLUS views safety issues of our staff seriously and various measures have and will be taken to ensure the safety of our staff is not being compromised. These include stationing armed security guards at toll plazas, providing strict procedures and so on.”

All medical and rehabilitation cost, including walking equipment and the prosthetic leg for Hafiz are fully-borne by PLUS.

“In addition, Haffiz will also be employed by PLUS until he retires. He now works at the S1 Section Office at the Pedas-Linggi Toll Plaza as a management assistant,” added Noorizah.

Noorizah also highlights that the Seremban Toll Plaza robbery and shooting incident took place when a dedicated covered walkway and bridge for staff, aimed at improving the safety of the staff at the toll plaza, was being built.

“The shooting incident took place in June last year. Meanwhile, the construction works of the dedicated covered walkway and bridge started in October 2011 and was fully completed in mid-August last year,” she elaborated.

According to Noorizah, the construction of the dedicated 432-metre walkway and bridge received positive responses from the staff at the toll plaza.

“Our staff at the Seremban Toll Plaza are very pleased with the new facility as it makes their movement to toll booths and the toll plaza operational office more comfortable, more convenient and much safer,” Noorizah ended.

According to Noorizah, the construction of the dedicated 432-metre walkway and bridge received positive responses from the staff at the toll plaza.
